More musicians, actors, and social media influencers than ever are sticking up for animals by going vegan, speaking out against cruelty, and more — and peta2, PETA's youth division, is recognizing these bold forces for animal rights with its 12th Annual Libby Awards.
“Libby” is short for “liberation” — as in animal liberation.
This year’s winners include two repeat champions: Miley Cyrus, who nabbed the title of Best Voice for Animals for the second year in a row, thanks to her tireless promotion of vegan eating and animal issues on social media, and Blink-182, the two-time winner of Most Animal-Friendly Band, thanks in part to drummer Travis Barker’s peta2 ad. They’re joined by Miley’s sister Noah Cyrus, who snagged the Best peta2 Ad award for her anti-SeaWorld campaign, and Shameless actor Emma Kenney, who earned the Brightest Star for Animals award after her anti-breeder rant was a huge hit.
